Playing music that makes you want to dance

One of today's top jazz orchestras, The Jazz Edge, a dynamic 17 piece ensemble under the creative and driving leadership of Thomas Moore performs many of the crowd pleasers of the Count Basie and the Duke Ellington Bands and other great contemporary, rhythm and blues, soul and blues bands. Performing compositions with cutting harmonies and entrancing melodies, The Jazz Edge recreates the music of today's favorite artists and composers. The Jazz Edge with its swinging and bluesy renditions makes the audience feel the mood of the music. They deliver the music that makes you want to dance.

An evening with The Jazz Edge is mixed with the sweet rich vocals of Marsha Evans and Ron Wilkinson. Marsha and Ron, great entertainers and performers, add to the soulfulness and lush sounds of this fine ensemble of musicians. Marsha delights the audience with selections from yesterday and today". Ron sings in his own creative, Lou Rawls way.  The marvelous voices of both vocalists provide an unequaled joyous experience.

The versatility of this ensemble is delivered through unique rhythmic instrumental and vocal renditions of jazz, pop, blues, swing, and show tunes. Playing original charts from the Count Basie Big Band and the Duke Ellington Big Band to Earth, Wind and Fire as well as other big bands, The Jazz Edge provides a musical menu unmatched in this area.  They have performed with Frank Foster, Clark Terry, Melton Mustafa, Lester Bowie, Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Jimmy Wilkins, James Moody, Hugh "Peanuts" Whalum, Ed Shaughnessy, Oliver Nelson, Jr., Frank Wess, Jackie Terrason, Chuck Berry, The Cunninghams and Hal Singer.
